DeGeneres quits American Idol

Ellen DeGeneres has quit "American Idol" after just one series on the judging panel.

The talk show host says the job didn't feel like the right fit.

Simon Cowell's already announced that he's leaving the show to concentrate on a new US version of the X Factor.

TV bosses in the States have yet to announce who will replace them.
