Brandon: Unexplained Death

Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man in Brandon, on Wednesday 2 October.

The ambulance service was called to an address in Manor House Close in Brandon at approximately 11am (Wednesday 2 October) with a report that an elderly man had collapsed.

The man, 73 year old, Peter Shea was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination has been carried out today, Friday 4 October. The findings of the post mortem were inconclusive and further tests are required before the cause of death can be ascertained.

Mr Shea’s death at this stage is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are on-going.

As part of their continuing enquiries police will be looking into the circumstances surrounding an incident of affray which Mr Shea was involved in at around 5.30pm on Friday 27 September in the Market Square (near to Mr G’s), Brandon.

At the time, Mr Shea was taken to West Suffolk Hospital and treated for a fractured shoulder.

Although a number of witnesses to this incident have been spoken to, police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed this incident, which involved Mr Shea and another male.
