Council Workers Spend The Day On Twitter

Norfolk County Council will be tweeting all day on Tuesday so we can get an idea of what goes on behind closed doors in their different departments.

By searching for the hashtag #nccourday on Twitter, people will be able to follow a shift of fire-fighters from Norwich, the working day of a social worker in Great Yarmouth, a team of highway rangers in the Fakenham area, a day in the life of the Millennium Library in Norwich and the council's customer service centre.

Each of these teams or individuals will be shadowed by a colleague from the council who will tweet updates and photos regularly throughout the day.

James Carswell, Cabinet Member for Communications and Customer Service on Norfolk County Council, said: "Twitter offers us a new and very immediate way to get in touch with the people to whom we are accountable, and I hope it will be fascinating and enlightening for people in Norfolk to find out what staff in these five frontline services experience in a given day."

Heart spoke to Elle Flatt from Norfolk Fire and Rescue, she'll be tweeting on behalf of the fire fighters
