Officers from Norfolk Police have charged four people following an operation in Great Yarmouth targeting human trafficking and prostitution.
33-year-old Nerijus Lekecinskas from Meadowland Drive in Bradwell, 34-year-old Marius Kamarauskas from Manby Road in Great Yarmouth and 23-year-old Rasa Legaite from Meadowland Drive in Bradwell all appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court yesterday where they were remanded in custody until their next court appearance which will be set at a later date.
46-year-old Skirmantas Kvedaras from Isaacs Road in Cobholm is due before magistrates today.
The charges follow a number of warrants carried out at addresses in South Yarmouth, Cobholm and Bradwell, on Wednesday in which eight people were arrested.
Intelligence gathered during these enquiries led officers to arrest a 35-year-old man in connection with people trafficking offences and serious sexual assault at an address on Admiralty Road in Great Yarmouth yestersday. The man has been bailed until October 28th pending further enquiries.
Four other men, aged 20, 29, 31, and 66, arrested in connection with the operation have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
