Hemsby Death Being Treated As Murder

Police are trying to find anyone who was at a private party after the death of a 20 year old man at the weekend.

Four males arrested in connection with the death of the man in Hemsby remain in police custody this morning.

A Home Office post mortem examination is due to take place todayat 9am at the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston.

Officers were called to a property on The Glebe about 11.25 pm on Saturday 10 May after reports of a disturbance at a private party.

On arrival at the scene a 20 year-old male was found with serious injuries to his chest and back. He was taken to the James Paget hospital for treatment, but sadly died a short while later.

As a result of initial police enquiries, four males in their teens were arrested nearby to the scene. They remain in police custody at Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.

It is believed that those arrested and the victim are from the Great Yarmouth area.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Durham, lead investigating officer from the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, said: "This is a very fast moving investigation and we are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry to piece together the events running up to this young man’s death.  We would ask anyone who was at the party and who may have further details about what happened to come forward."
