7 years after a man disappeared in Ipswich and the police have told Heart his family can't grieve until they find out what happened.
19-year-old Luke Durbin from Hollesley, near Woodbridge was reported missing to Suffolk Police by his mother, Nicki on Saturday 13 May 2006.
Luke had been on a night out with friends in Ipswich on Thursday 11 May, through to the early hours of Friday 12 May but never came home.
Detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team have been investigating Luke's disappearance for 7 years and are now renewing their appeal in the hope that someone may hold the vital information, which could help with the case.
Detective Superintendent John Brocklebank who is leading the investigation said: "We are refocusing our enquiries and renewing our appeals for information. Someone out there knows what happened to Luke and we are determined to find out to give his family some sort of closure."
Seven years ago, Luke had spent the evening of Thursday 11 May with friends in Ipswich. He was captured on CCTV in Cardinal Park just after midnight; inside Hawk Express taxis at 3.30am and near to the Bus Station in Dogs Head Street, Ipswich at 4am on Friday 12 May. There has finally been a report of Luke being seen in Woodbridge in a dark blue Renault Megane car being driven by a black man, this was between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 13 May near to the entrance to the Turban Centre car park on Quay Side, Woodbridge.
"Although we have spoken to many people who saw Luke late on Thursday 11 May and into the early hours of Friday 12 May we haven't been able to piece together where he went after 4am." Continued Det Supt John Brocklebank. "Did you see someone matching Luke's description trying to get a lift? Did you see him knocking on people's doors? Did Luke visit your address or do you know if he stayed at someone else's address in Ipswich or elsewhere?
"Any information, however small could help us. Each time we issue a media appeal, we receive calls and information from people; each and every piece of information is followed up on to see if it can help our investigation.
"Someone knows what happened to Luke and is holding back information.
All calls are treated in the strictest confidence and can also be made anonymously. I am making a direct plea to anyone who has any information to please contact us as your call could be key to helping us to find out what happened to Luke."
