Latitude: Festival Arrests

Police made several arrests during the Latitude Festival for theft, drugs and dishonest entry.

Two 18-year-old men were charged with obtaining services dishonestly after they were stopped by Latitude security staff and were arrested at the Festival site. 

James Dowsing of Browning Close in Romford and Jake Knowlden from of Lulworth Drive in Romford, have both been charged with obtaining access to the Latitude festival by a dishonest act - without making payment for an entrance ticket. James Dowsing has also been charged with theft and with possession of cannabis. Both men are due to appear at Lowestoft Magistrates Court on 31st July.

Police have also arrested three 16-year-old boys from Brighton on suspicion of theft. All three are currently in custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where they are being interviewed by officers.

So far more than 30 thefts from tents have been reported and seven theft from the person incidents.

During the weekend three men were also arrested in connection with drugs offences. An 18-year-old man from Broxbourne in Hertfordshire and a 20-year-old man from Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply. Both have now been bailed until August 29th pending further enquiries.

Also a 22-year-old man from Arlesey in Bedfordshire was arrested on suspicion of possession of MDMA (Ecstasy) with intent to supply. He has now been bailed until 17th August.
