Lowestoft's Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo is certain of an Olympic medal after making it into the semi finals of the middleweight boxing.

He beat Germany's Stefan Hartel on Monday night to set up a fight on Friday night.

Anthony's mother is currently unwell in hospital and he paid tribute to her on twitter last night.

'I'm taking some bling home to Mummy!! The support has been truly phenomenal. The roar of that crowd is awe inspiring. Thank you. Thank you!!

I'm boxing the Brazilian next. He beat me at the world champs last year & left me heartbroken, I can smell some redemption cooking up!!

One final thank you to every British supporter cheering from the crowd or shouting at the TV. You continue to inspire the whole team. Love X'

Other sports stars have been lining up to congratulate him on twitter.  Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis wrote 'Anthony Ogogo looked good tonite.. Moves on and is guaranteed to medal. Focused on gold! Needs to use jab more tho.'

Fellow boxer Carl Froch wrote 'Well done lads.... @anthonyfjoshua @AnthonyOgogo both securing at least a Bronze Medal.... on the way to GOLD! #teamGBboxing '

Norwich City striker Grant Holt was also pleased for him on twitter writing  'Well Done @anthonyogogo for punching that bloke in the face lots and lots.'

Some of his friends and family all met up at the Nirvana Fitness Gym in Lowestoft where Anthony trains to watch the fight.  Heart was there too and spoke to his cousin Danny after the fight:
