Man Named After Death Outside Club

Detectives from the joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team have named the man killed in an attack on Prince of Wales Road in Norwich in the early hours on Friday.

Police were called to the Chicago’s nightclub at about 2.25am following reports a man had been assaulted outside the venue.

Forty-three-year-old Alan Jewitt, of Gertrude Road, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but subsequently died from a bleed to the brain.

Ion Lacatus, 27 and from London, has been charged with manslaughter and will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court later today.
