Man Pleads Guilty To Murder

A Latvian factory worker has pleaded guilty to the murder of his flatmate in Great Yarmouth.

21-year-old Jurijs Ostrovskis admitted stabbing 21-year-old Vladimir Adamavics after an argument at their flat in Euston Road on Sunday 2nd of January, when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court yesterday.

Police were called to the premises at 7am to find Mr Adamavics dying from stab wounds. He died at the scene.

Ostrovskis was arrested and later charged with murder by detectives from the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team (MIT), who led the investigation.

Following a public appeal, the murder weapon - a knife - was found on the beach near Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth.

Ostrovskis was remanded in custody to appear for sentencing on 20 April 2011.
