A 74 year old man from Norfolk has been seriously injured after a crash in Newmarket.
Police are appealing for witnesses following a road collision on the A142 Fordham Road last night.
A car had travelled along the east bound off-slip from the A14 onto the A142 where it collided with a lorry travelling south on the A142.
Emergency services were called out just before 10.30pm and cut the driver, a 62 year old man, from the car.
The back seat passenger, a 74-year-old man from Caister on Sea, was seriously injured and was taken to Addenbrookes hospital where he is described as being in a critical but stable condition.
Police are asking anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision or the crash itself to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101.
