Norfolk Police Officer Suspended

An inquiry has been launched after allegations of corruption within Norfolk police.

One officer has now been suspended after allegations of gross misconduct.

Suffolk police have also been called in to ensure it is a fair investigation.

A man from Wymondham has also been arrested and bailed.

A police spokesperson said: “Investigations are continuing into allegations of gross misconduct involving an officer from Norfolk Constabulary. Suffolk officers have been supporting the inquiries into the circumstances that led to the allegations to ensure impartiality and to protect the integrity of the investigation.

“As a result of information received, a man from Wymondham has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

“The officer remains suspended from duty whilst inquiries continue.”
