Muslims in Norwich have responded to the murder of a soldier in Woolwich in a suspected terror attack.

Muslim groups have united in condemning the attack in Woolwich as un-Islamic, after one of the suspects reportedly shouted  "We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you" after the attack.

David Cameron says the terrorist attack on a solider was "a betrayal of Islam".

In a statement on their website, the Muslim Community of Norwich says it is "is shocked, saddened and offended at the barbaric killing of an innocent man in Woolwich yesterday afternoon; our sincerest sympathies and condolences go out to the family of the deceased for their dreadful loss.

"We are a community of predominantly British Muslims, many of whom have come to Islam by choice, and as such we absolutely repudiate any claim these criminal individuals have made to justify the heinous act they have committed by mentioning the name of God or the name of our chosen religion. Actions of this kind can only be motivated by depravity and could never result from any true understanding of Islam.
