Police are investigating two armed robberies in one day at shops in Norwich.

The latest happened yesterday, shortly after 5.15pm when a man entered Vintage clothing shop, approached the shop worker and threatened her with a pen.

The robber demanded money and got away with £20 in cash before fleeing the scene and running towards Grapes Hill. The victim, a woman in her 60s, was uninjured.

That happened just hours after a man entered Arts Desire on St Benedicts Street and threatened a shop worker with a screwdriver before getting away with £40 in cash.

Detective Inspector Andy Ninham, from Norwich CID, said officers were following several lines of enquiry.

He said: "There are similarities between the incidents and while we are investigation possible links, we are keeping an open mind at this stage.

"I would urge anyone with information about either incident, no matter how insignificant it may seem to them, to come forward."
