Norwich: Serious Sexual Assault On A Woman

An investigation has started after a woman was sexually assaulted in Norwich at the weekend.

It happened in the early hours on Sunday morning (21st July) in William White Place. The 19 year old girl was walking along Riverside Road when she was approached by a man at about 2am. He asked her for a light.

The man took her by the arm and led her into William White Place where he forced her to the ground, removed her clothing and sexually assaulted her.

The offended is described as black, nearly 6ft tall with facial stubble.

Crime officers have carried out investigations at the scene and detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or have any information. They are particularly interested in speaking to a group of people who left flats in William White Place at the time of the assault and may have disturbed the offender.

The victim is currently being supported by specially trained police officers and her family and extra patrols are being carried out in the area.
