Detectives in Norwich have launched an investigation following a robbery at a fast-food restaurant in Magdalen Street.
It happened at Subway last night (Wednesday 11th December) at about 6.30pm when a man entered the shop and approached the counter demanding money.
He threatened staff and told them he had a gun, although no weapon was seen. The suspect handed the victim a plastic bag which was filled with cash from the till. The robber ran out the shop onto Magdalen Road and away from the city.
The suspect is described as white, aged between 30 and 40 years old, of thin build with dark eyebrows and was wearing beige trousers, a dark brown jacket and a dark beanie hat which had a stripe on it. He was carrying a plastic blue bag.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Knights, from Norwich CID, said: "Thankfully no one was injured during the incident but staff were understandably left shaken by what was clearly a frightening experience.
"The suspect alleged he had a gun however no weapon was used during the incident or seen by the victim or witnesses.
"We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously in the area prior to the incident or someone running away from the scene.”
