It comes after officers were called to a playground off Church Road in Heartsease at about 8pm on Wednesday night (4 July) following reports of a suspicious object.
The immediate area around the object was sealed off while specially trained officers made initial investigations.
The object was assessed as safe and did not pose any threat to the local community.
Last night (5 July) a 16-year-old boy from the Norwich area was arrested in connection with the incident. He was interviewed at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre and later released on bail until August while officers continue with their enquiries.
Officers from the Norwich North Safer Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out patrols in the area offering reassurance to local residents.
Inspector Gary Brotherhood said: "I would like to reassure local people that at no time during the incident were members of the public at risk."
