Police have confirmed that a suspicious package that they found in a house did NOT contain explosives.

Police were called to the house on Queensway around 12.50pm yesterday, Thursday, 17 February, and were there during the night.

The property was secured to allow experts to carry out their work and officers spoke with neighbours to offer reassurance.

The teams have now left the house and it was found to be safe. No explosive devices were discovered.

Two men arrested in connection with the incident - a 42-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from the Wymondham area, were arrested on drugs offences. They are currently at Bethel Street Police Station.

The house was residential but police say it was not deemed necessary to evacuate neighbouring properties.
