Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in the early hours of Saturday morning in Sudbury.
The incident was reported to police yesterday morning, Monday 24 March.
The woman had been out with a friend in the town on Friday night, but was seperated from her at a venue in East Street.
It is thought the woman left the venue and her next recollection is waking up in rural location in a dishevelled state with injuries to her body in the early hours of Saturday morning. She then tried to make her way home and sought help nearby.
Specialist trained officers are working with the victim and taking statements from others to try to find out exactly what happened and where the attack took place.
Police are also keen to identify the person who helped the victim during the early hours of Saturday morning or speak to anyone who has information in relation to this incident.
