A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing a danger to road users after something was dropped from a bridge onto one of our main roads.

A 41-year-old woman was driving along the A12 under the footbridge when she heard a bang and the windscreen of her vehicle cracked.

The 15-year-old boy, from the Martlesham Heath area, was arrested yesterday evening, Monday 18 June, and taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he was interviewed by officers.

He has now been bailed to return to police on July 17.

Officers are continuing to ask anyone who may have been in the area around this time to come forward if you saw anything suspicious. If you can help please call PC 1374 Turner on 101.
