Suffolk/Norfolk: Thunderstorms Cause Fires And Flooding

Thunderstorms have been causing fires and flooding in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Firefighters from East Harling were called out to a fire in electricity pole.  Hundreds of people lost their power supplies while Power Networks UK fixed it after lightning hit.

In Bawdeswell near Dereham fire crews were called to another fire in an electricity pole after a lightning strike.

In Suffolk at Snape a barn is alight after a lightning strike there too.  It's a wooden barn full of straw, tools and vehicles.

4 fire appliances from Halesworth, Aldeburgh, Leiston and Ipswich East have been sent to the scene,  a command unit and pump from Woodbridge and a water carrier from Leiston are also there.

On the A11 at Thetford flash flooding is causing queuing traffic.
