Teenager Sexually Assaulted

A teenage girl has told police she has been seriously sexually assaulted and robbed.

It happened in an alleyway off Cathedral Street in the early hours on Sunday 15th May between 12.30am and 1am.

The 19-year-old woman was walking along Prince of Wales Road towards the train station when she was approached by a man who grabbed her.

She was taken into an alleyway where a second man held the woman while she was sexually assaulted by the first offender. Her handbag, which contained a mobile phone, was stolen along with items of clothing.

After the incident three women came to the assistance of the victim and police are keen to trace these women.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information concerning it.
