Thetford: Man Dies From Burns

Police have confirmed a man found on fire in Thetford yesterday has died from his injuries in hospital.

Police were called to Walmington Court, off Station Road, at 12.30am on Wednesday after calls from members of the public for a man who appeared to be alight in the street.

The victim, believed to be aged in his early 40s, died at a specialist unit in Chelmsford from his burn injuries.

Police say while they continue to make enquiries into the circumstances leading to this incident, it is not at this time being treated as suspicious and no-one else is believed to have been involved.

Next of kin have been informed and an inquest will be opened in due course.
