12 people arrested during weekend operation

TWELVE people were arrested in Northampton town centre at the weekend as part of Operation Nightsafe, the countywide crackdown on alcohol-related crime and disorder.

On Friday night (4 February), two arrests were made in Kettering Road following an assault on a man at the bottom of Bridge Street and another man was arrested for being drunk in charge of a vehicle.

Three public order arrests were also made – one from Club Base, one from McDonalds and the other from Bridge Street.

Two arrests were made in Wood Hill and Bridge Street, both for being drunk and disorderly.

The following evening (Saturday), four further arrests were made for a variety of offences.

One arrest was made for affray from Panache, one for drugs offences on Bridge Street, one for criminal damage at Balestra and one for drunk and disorderly from The Cordwainer.
