Big Warehouse Fire In Corby

Northamptonshire Fire and rescue service are currently dealing with a large fire at Catalent Solutions in Sedge close Corby.
The building is a large single-storey warehouse which is approximately 100 m x 100 m
Firefighting operations are concentrated on dealing with the fire and protecting the surrounding area. It is anticipated at this time that the incident will go on for a number of hours.
The fire service has 12 pumping appliances, three aerial platforms, and five additional supporting appliances. A total of approximately 100 firefighters are on scene managing the incident. The fire service are also deploying the COBRA cold cutting system which is capable of cutting through thick walls to extinguish fires from outside the building.
The fire is producing large volumes of smoke and local residents are advised to avoid approaching the incident. Additionally we are advising local residents to stay out of the smoke, remain in doors and to keep doors and windows closed.
Work is already underway with our colleagues in the police, emergency planning and other agencies to establish what additional safety information needs to be communicated.
