Both women, aged 19, were taken to Kettering General Hospital with significant injuries.
An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is on-going but police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the Boden Close area of Corby late last night. They would specifically like to speak to anyone who may have seen a man running away from the scene.
He was a white man, around 6ft, of average build, in his mid-20s to early 30s, with short blonde/brown hair. He was wearing a red, white and black tracksuit top and dark tracksuit bottoms. It is believed he had been drinking prior to the assault.
He approached the women from the direction of The Talisman pub, making off on foot in the direction of Danesholme.
