A car which failed to stop for police in Northamptonshire has crashed and overturned on the A45 this morning.
Northamptonshire Police reported a car they tried to stop has crashed and overturned on the A45, just off junction 15 of the M1.
Officers spotted a man "covered in blood" at the Watford Gap Services. Traffic officers tried to stop the car as it drove off on the southbound carriageway of the M1. The vehicle came off the motorway at j15 but crashed and overturned as it was heading along the eastbound A45 towards Northampton, at the Collingtree turn-off.
The road was closed for over an hour to allow two air-ambulances to land at the scene.
Heart understands three people in the car were taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
TRAFFIC UPDATE
A45 has re-opened but the M1 remains very heavy both ways heading past junction 15.
