Family's tribute to a "Loving Daddy"

Stuart Martin suffered a head injury outside the Bar Life club in the town centre in the early hours of Saturday morning [19th June] and later died in hospital.

His family say the 28-year-old father from Wellingborough was a "family man with a heart of gold''.

Kevin Strong, 23, appeared before magistrates on Tuesday charged with his manslaughter and he will face Crown Court next month.

After the court appearance, Mr Martin's family released a statement describing him as a "a devoted fiance'' and "the most loving of daddies to his four-year-old daughter.

They said: "A family man with a heart of gold, who would do anything for anyone, he has left behind a family who adored him. His wonderful mum, his sister and brother.  We will miss him so much and our hearts are broken.''

They also urged anyone who had witnessed the events that led to Mr Martin's death to contact police, adding: "Please come forward and tell the police in confidence and help us to piece together the untimely and tragic end to our wonderful Stuart's life.''
