Police are appealing for information about suspicious circumstances reported to the police in Penvale Road, Hunsbury, Northampton on the afternoon of Friday 6 May.
At shortly before 4pm, an 11-year-old girl was walking home from school along Penvale Road when a small silver two-door car came towards her, crossed the road and parked up.
The male driver got out of the car and said he had been told to pick the girl up. The girl ran off to her home address.
The man is described as possibly being Asian or mixed race, aged in his twenties, of thin build with a goatee beard.
He had short black hair which was shorter on the sides than on top. He did not have any glasses or jewellery and was wearing jeans and white Adidas trainers with a blue logo.
The car was a small two-door Fiat Punto type car with a grey interior. The rear seat behind the front passenger seat was folded down and the girl thinks there were the numbers 7 and 3 in the number plate.
