Hand Grenades Cause Police Evacuation

Weston Favell police station has been evacuated this morning after a well-meaning member of the public walked in with two hand grenades.

Experts have been called in to establish if the grenades are live or not.

Staff and officers are on hand outside the police station to advise any members of the public intending to visit the station. Members of the public are asked to visit alternative police stations or call 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Prisoners have been transferred to other stations in the county.
