Northamptonshire Police are urging more people to sign up to Neighbourhood Watch after it was revealed just 2% of the county are members.
Only around 13,000 people in the county are part of a Neighbourhood Watch scheme, that's five times less than other counties like Hertfordshire that has around 120'000.
So as part of Neighbourhood Watch week this week, Northamptonshire Police are running events to try and encourage more people to sign up.
Chairman of Northants Neighbourhood Watch Ian Fearnsley says:
"It's all about trying to get them to look after each other, to be aware of each other, to know their neighbours and generally help the crime prevention by being aware of whats going on around them, what's going on in the street."
