Police in Northampton are appealing for witnesses following a high speed chase through the town for half an hour on Tuesday night (March 15th).

A blue Honda Civic, registration number R462 WRA, was being driven by a known and disqualified driver who failed to stop for the officers at around 9.15

It was pursued from the A508 Harborough Road junction with Cranford Road, through residential streets before finally coming to a stop at Kingsheath Playing Field.

The police say the car was driven at high speed through red lights and mounted a kerb before coming to a stop in the Playing Field. The driver was arrested nearby.

The 20-year-old local man has been charged and remanded for dangerous driving whilst disqualified, no insurance and failing to stop for a police officer.

Police would like to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident along the route mentioned above, and anybody who was affected by the man's driving.

They would also like to speak to anybody who recognises this description of a passenger in the Honda who managed to escape when the vehicle stopped. He is described as white, in his late teens, of slim build with a pale complexion wearing a Christmas style bobble hat with tassels at the side.
