Christopher Brown aged 31 from Warkton Lane, Burton Latimer was sentenced on Tuesday 30 October at Northampton Crown Court to nine years in prison for drugs offences.
He was arrested in April 2011 after a CCTV operator reported a man acting suspiciously near cash points in Kettering.
Officers responded and subsequently arrested Mr Brown who was paying in large amounts of cash into ATMs.
His home address was later searched, where officers discovered a ‘chemical lab’ of explosive devices, crystal MDMA. Ketamine and LSD, with a total value in excess of £30,000. A safe containing approximately £40,000 was also seized.
Bomb disposal experts were called in to safely detonate what appeared to be an explosive device.
During the investigation a total in the region of £90,000 cash was seized.
Mr Brown’s partner Kelly Cross, aged 26 living at the same address was also arrested at the time.
In September 2012 Mr Brown pleaded guilty to a number of drugs offences and was on Tuesday 30 October sentenced to nine years.
Kelly Cross pleaded guilty to converting criminal property and was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison suspended for two years and 120 hours of unpaid work.
