Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that a man from Northampton was killed on the M5 near Bristol
Paul Edwards died on the M5 near Bristol, on Thursday night.
He had been driving a lorry and had stopped on the hard shoulder with his hazards on. A Highways Agency patrol vehicle was also parked behind the lorry with its hazards going.
Mr Edwards, a father of two from the Goldings area, had got our of his cab and for a reason that's yet to be established had stumbled into the inside lane.
He was struck by as many as three lorries, leaving him fatally injured. He would have been 43 this Sunday.
Avon and Somerset Police say two of the three lorry drivers have now come forward to help with their investigation but they're still trying to trace the third driver.
None of the lorry drivers stopped at the scene of the crash, but officers say as it was dark it was possible they wouldn't know that Mr Edwards had been hit.
