Police are appealing for information after a three-hour hunt in Northampton for a burglar who it is thought was armed.
Shortly after 9am today, police received reports of a forced entry to boarded-up shop in Broadway East by a man who could have been carrying a weapon.
Firearms officers were sent to the scene. The hunt for the suspected burglary, which included the Force helicopter, was halted at around 1pm. Nobody was found.
Northants police say Investigators and Safer Community Team officers are continuing to conduct enquiries into the Broadway East area.
The building were subject to a drugs raid on 16 August - no arrests were made following that raid.
