A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a seven week old boy.
Police have confirmed that the two, aged 23 and 20, were held after the death of Jamie Kightley from London Road in Far Cotton near Northampton last month.
The youngster died on Saturday March 17th - initial findings suggest he died as a result of a head injury.
The two people arrested have now been bailed pending further enquiries.
A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said, "We can confirm that two arrests have been made by officers in the East Midlands special operations unit for major crime. A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Northampton, were arrested on suspicion of the murder of a seven-week old baby.''
The arrests were made on March 22.
An inquest is due to be opened and adjourned on Wednesday into the circumstances of the death.
