Newcastle Man Charged With Father's Murder
A Newcastle man has appeared in court charged with murdering his father and assaulting a neighbour who came across the scene.
Geoffrey Bulman, 45, of Stratford Grove West in the city spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address at North Tyneside Magistrates court this morning.
Prosecutor Christopher Kay told the court it is alleged that a neighbour came over to investigate after the incident on Monday and was then assaulted.
Bulman, dressed in standard, prison issue grey sweats was told he would remain in custody until his next appearance at court on January 2.
Winifred Clayton, Chair of the Bench, said: "This is an indictable only matter."
The two matters will be heard at Newcastle Crown Court on 2nd January.
"You are to be remanded in custody until that date."
