Police Investigate Assault In Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for information after an assault on Saltersgill Avenue near to the junction of Sunningdale Road in Middlesbrough.

The reported incident happened on Sunday 3rd May at around 6.30am when a 29-year-old male minibus driver dropped off a group of four males and one female. Following a verbal altercation he was then kicked and his head and body were stamped on.

A house brick is believed to have been thrown at the victim, leaving him with head injuries. He was later taken to James Cook University Hospital and was discharged the same day.

A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
