A man from Sunderland's appeared in court after being charged with 10 terror offences.
37 year old Mohammed Kahar was first arrested by officers from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit in March for offences under the Terrorism Act.
It's now emerged he was arrested for further offences on Monday and has appeared in front of magistrates in London.
He is alleged to have committed five offences of dissemination of terrorist publications, one offence of preparing acts of terrorism in Syria and two offences of supporting a proscribed organisation.
He is also accused of one offence of terrorist financing and one offence of possession of a record.
The police unit said the investigation is intelligence-led and there is no evidence to suggest that any communities are at immediate risk in connection with this operation.
Kahar did not enter any pleas, and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on May 14.
