Two Charged After Drug Arrests In Kendal

Two men have been charged with a drugs offence, having been arrested in Kendal.

Billy Johnson and Stephen Ayrey - both from Eccles in Greater Manchester - were taken in on Friday lunchtime after a crash involving a police car in Kirkland.

The pair - aged 27 and 26 - are further accused of handling stolen goods; and Johnson's also accused of dangerous driving.

They were due before magistrates in Barrow on Friday morning.

Detective Sergeant Andrew Lamb said: “Cumbria Constabulary takes all drugs crime seriously.

“To tackle drugs offences we need the help of the public and any information, no matter how minor it might seem, could help.
