Woman Hospitalised After Kendal Crash

A woman's in hospital after a crash on Kendal's one-way system.

She was on foot when she was struck by a Toyota Aygo on Aynum Road, near Domino's Pizza.

Cumbria Police had shut the road to investigate, but it's now re-open.

A statement from Cumbria Police read: "Police were called at 9:44am today (29th October), to a road traffic collision on the corner of Aynam Road Kendal. The collision involved a Toyota Aygo and a pedestrian. The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene.

"The pedestrian, a woman in her 50’s, has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

"The driver of the Toyota Aygo, a 57-year-old man from Keswick is helping police with enquiries."
