Dig The City Of Manchester!
Discover new ways to enjoy the outdoors at Dig the City in Manchester's city centre from this Friday 31st July to Thursday 6th Aug.
Keep cool this summer at Manchester’s seven day al fresco party Dig the City, which is spreading its leaves across the heart of Manchester’s shopping district from Friday 31st July to Thursday 6th August.
Watch as Manchester’s city centre landmarks, lamp-posts, hanging baskets and shop windows bloom into life as Market Street, New Cathedral Street, St Ann’s Square, King Street, Deansgate and Greengate Square all become a gardener's paradise.
And there's loads for the family to get involved in too, with gardens to explore and pop-up picnics, delicious food and fabulous fétes take over the city’s shopping streets of Manchester.
The highlights include beautiful Show Gardens including Coronation Street The Tour Garden, talks by TV’s garden expert Diarmuid Gavin and great entertainment for the kids from Horrible Histories: Blitzed Brits, and meet and greets with every tiddler's favourite gardener Mr Bloom.
But Dig the City is not just about plants and gardens or the best in urban garden design, it's about making the most of summer. With the Bandstand featuring local music, family play Inkheart in the Den and Wild Rumpus to turn your whole family into detectives, you can discover some new fun ways to enjoy the great outdoors.
