Man Denies Murdering Blackpool Girl
Paige Chivers, from Bispham, was 15 when she was last seen in August 2007.
Since then there have been no corroborated sightings of her and no contact with her family or friends, despite numerous appeals, rewards and a long-running police investigation.
Robert Ewing from Kincraig Place has appeared at Preston Crown Court where he denied murdering the teenager between August 23, 2007 and August 27, 2007.
The 60 year-old also pleaded not guilty to doing acts intended to pervert the course of public justice, namely intimidating witnesses and providing false information to the police about Paige's disappearance between August 23, 2007 and September 22 this year.
Co-defendant Gareth Dewhurst, 45, of Duncan Avenue, Blackpool, denies the same offence.
Dewhurst also pleaded not guilty to one additional sex offence and assisting an offender in disposing of Paige's body between the dates of August 23 2007 and August 27 2007.
Both men will face trial on April 14 next year , the case is expected to last up to 12 weeks.
