Cheshire West and Chester Council outline masterplan for city centre
In February this year, the council ended a 12 year old partnership with an existing developer after little progress had been made.
On Wednesday night councillors will decide whether to accept or reject a new master plan, which will create 1,600 permanent jobs and more through construction, which will bring in more than £150m ever year to the city.
Councillor Herbert Manley, Executive Member for Regeneration said: "In January the Council made a clear commitment to Northgate as the key to the future of Chester and we are determined to move forward with the scheme."
The outline plans will form the basis for consultations which will be carried out until the new year, to get the views of the public.
