Police say the family of a man who died in Wigan in the early hours of Monday are heart-broken.
Shortly after 3.15am police were called to Nicol Mere Drive in Ashton-in-Makerfield to reports a man had been held by members of the public following suspected thefts from vehicles. Officers found 25 year old Jordan Higham unresponsive, he was taken to hospital where he later died. A 27-year-old man and a 24-year-old man who were arrested on suspicion of murder have been released under investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Clare Devlin from GMP's Wigan borough said: "Jordan's family are understandably heartbroken and we are doing everything we can to support them at this devastating time.
"We originally arrested two men on suspicion of murder and they have since been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue.
"A team of officers are working round the clock to get to the bottom of what happened and how Jordan sadly died.
"As part of our investigation we need as much information from the public as possible. If you haven't spoken to us yet, or have something further to tell us, then please get in touch immediately."
