Man charged over daylight stabbing

A 49 year old man's been charged after a man was found with a stab wound outside a supermarket on Oxford's Cowley Road.

Raymond Wells, from East Avenue, Oxford, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court on Tuesday 20 April 2010 and is due to appear before Oxford Crown Court on Monday 26 April.

Police were called to the Cowley Road shortly before 4.30pm on Sunday 18 April following reports of an argument between two men.

On arrival at the scene, officers discovered a man in his thirties with a stab wound to his stomach and recovered a knife.

The injured man was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
