One of four people arrested at Oxford Register Office - as part of an investigation into a suspected sham marriage - has been charged with two counts of perjury.

Amrik Singh, who's 30 and from India, appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 9 June 2010 and has been remanded in custody.

His bride-to-be, a 19 year old woman from Poland, who was also arrested has been cautioned.

Registrars at Oxford Register Office became suspicious of the couple on Tuesday 8 June and alerted the UK Border Agency.

Two others were also arrested - a 47 year old British man who's now been bailed, and a second Polish woman, who's been released without charge.
