The family of a dad who died after being hit by a car in the middle of Banbury have released a tribute through police.

Richard Smith was hit on Horsefair, near Banbury Cross, late on Sunday 28 February 2010.  He 42 year old from Chipping Norton later died in hospital.

In a tribute released through police, Richard's wife Sarah said: "Richard was a very loving husband and father to his three children. He would also do anything he could to help out his family and friends.

"He lived life to fullest and was a hard worker and a perfectionist with whatever job he was undertaking. He was a passionate Chelsea football fan and loved spending time watching the match with his mates.

"He will be so sadly missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.

"Forever in my heart, Sarah xx"

Richard's children have also paid tribute to their Dad. His son Ryan said: "Rest in peace dad you will always be missed" and daughter Ellie: "Dad, I will love and miss you always."
