£13 million is going to be spent making the Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough bigger.

The 16,000 feet extension will be to the rear of Cowgate, where several small shop units will be replaced by one large store and a smaller one.

It's hoped the expansion will attract a major retailer to Peterborough, and create around 100 new jobs.

The building work is expected to be finished in around two years.

As part of the plans, an entrance into the shopping centre from King's Street will be closed off.

The outside public entrance into Argos will also be replaced with a shop window.
