An armed robber has stolen cash from a dentist surgery in Peterborough.

The robber calmly walked into the surgery in Hampton Court, Westwood, at around 5:10pm yesterday and demanded money from the receptionist.

He then threatened a 27 year old staff member with what is believed to have been a gun.

He instructed her to hand over cash and her handbag, before following her into an office and stealing more money.

The robber is described as Asian, aged in his 40s, 5'10 to 6', of thin build, wearing a dark coat, a stripy scarf over his mouth and nose, and a beanie hat.

PC Tom Rowe, investigating, said: "This was a terrifying experience for the member of staff who was threatened in this robbery.

I would appeal to anyone who has information to call police."

Anyone with any information is asked to call PC Rowe on 0345 456 456 4 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
